This will increase the level of female football in the country.

He said that we are putting a lot of emphasis on the development of women's football in the country. Therefore, we presented the bid for hosting the Under-17 Women's World Cup and now we have got the host of it. Das said that the decision on the venue to host the tournament will be decided soon. He said that there are four to five places in our mind and we will decide on these soon. As a host country, 16 teams of India will be automatically qualified in this tournament. Six continental qualifying tournaments are yet to start.

Besides the Under-17 Women's World Cup, India also showed interest in hosting the Under-20 Women's World Cup. The Under-17 Women's Tournament was started in 2008 and New Zealand hosted it. Spain is the current champion and its seventh phase will be held in India. The Asian teams have been the most successful in this.
